OUR RECENT TRIP TO NYBFW

EVERYTHING WE LOVED AT NYBFW & WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR WEDDING DRESS

we went to new york bridal fashion week (nybfw) and honestly? we’re still not over it. the spring 2027 collections hit two very different cultural moods and somehow both were everything. we’re talking windswept gothic romance on one end and sleek, effortless minimalism on the other.

here's your full download on what we saw, what we loved, and what we’re already bringing to our shops for you to try.

THE TWO MOODS OF SS27

if spring 2027 had a vibe, it had two of them.

the first is full wuthering heights energy. think sculptural lace, dramatic volume, gothic romance, bubble hems that bounce when you walk, and bold colors that have zero interest in playing it safe. the second is sleek, clean, and effortlessly cool. silk slip silhouettes, column gowns, low backs, and the kind of dress that looks incredible in every photo without trying too hard.

the good news? you don’t have to pick a lane. one of the best things about shopping at a&bé is getting to try on both worlds and see what makes you feel most like you. that’s literally what we’re here for.

THE BIGGEST SPRING 2027 BRIDAL TRENDS

ALL-OVER LACE IS THE MOMENT

lace is having a full reinvention for ss27, and we are here for every single second of it. the trend isn’t lace-as-accent anymore. it’s full commitment, head-to-toe lace that makes a statement all on its own. fitted open-lace gowns, intricate cutwork patterns, sheer illusion panels woven right into the lace structure. this is lace that leads the whole look.

the designers doing it best right now? dana harel and katherine tash, both of whom got major press coverage for their lace stories at nybfw. if you’ve been dreaming of a lace gown that feels more editorial than traditional, this is your season.

BUBBLE HEMS & BIG VOLUME ARE BACK

okay, the 80s called and honestly? they were right. puff sleeves, bubble peplums, voluminous ballgowns, bouncy skirts: the maximalist silhouette is fully back in bridal and it looks so cool. we saw it at danielle frankel and katherine tash, and every single version felt fresh rather than costumey.

if you’ve always secretly wanted a big dress, this is your permission slip. joy looks good on you, and nothing says joy like a skirt with volume.

SCULPTURAL CORSETS ARE EVERYWHERE

structured boned bodices and sculpted corset tops showed up across every price point at nybfw this season. this trend is about waist definition and intentional shaping. the kind of construction that makes you stand taller the moment you put it on.

what we love about this trend is how accessible it is. you can find beautiful corset-inspired bodice work in designers from alyssa kristin and madi lane all the way up to katherine tash and eva lendel. there is truly a version of this trend for every budget and every vision.

COLOR IS HAVING ITS BRIDAL MOMENT

if you’ve been eyeing a non-white gown and wondering if it’s "okay", it’s more than okay, it’s iconic. spring 2027 brought some of the boldest color stories we’ve seen in bridal: crimson florals, blood orange, powder pink, baby blue, dusty champagne, and muted sage. designers like monique lhuillier, galia lahav, tanner fletcher, and kyha leaned all the way in.

not ready to go full color? blush and dusty champagne are gorgeous entry points that still feel distinctly bridal while adding a little something unexpected. either way, you do you. that’s the whole damn point.

ITALIAN MIKADO IS THE FABRIC OF THE SEASON

if you tried on something this season and thought “wow, what even is this fabric?”, it was probably italian mikado. it’s luminous, has a beautiful sheen, and somehow manages to be structured and fluid at the same time. it’s the kind of fabric that photographs flawlessly and feels just as good as it looks. designers like alyssa kristin are using it in elevated new ways this season and we are obsessed.

BOLD 3D FLORALS FOR THE BRIDES WHO WANT A MOMENT

hand-sculpted silk flowers, oversized floral appliqué, floral brocade and jacquard: three-dimensional florals showed up everywhere at nybfw and they are stunning. this is for the bride who wants people to audibly gasp when they walk in. it’s a maximalist choice that somehow still feels effortless when done right.

ACCESSORIES ARE PART OF THE LOOK NOW

this is big: accessories are no longer an afterthought. brides at nybfw were styling ornate headpieces, netted birdcage veils, embellished headbands, and pearl-dotted details as intentional fashion statements. part of the design, not an add-on.

did you know we offer specialized veil and accessory appointments? our expert stylists are genuinely amazing at helping you put together the full picture, and the right veil or headpiece can completely transform a gown. let’s get you styled!

THE DESIGNERS WE’RE WATCHING CLOSELY

alyssa kristin

sustainably made in chicago and available in sizes 0–28, alyssa kristin’s ss27 collection is all about balancing sculpted bodices with fluid fabrics. if you care about where your gown is made and want something that hits the season’s biggest trends at an attainable luxury price point, this one is for you.

katherine tash

her "heritage collection" debuted to major buzz at nybfw and was cited by refinery29 and wwd as a leading voice in the fitted lace story. the "arlo" gown (asymmetrical structured bust, long sleeves, pearl buttons, thigh-high slit) is already living rent-free in our heads. separates available for multi-look styling, too. try on katherine gowns at select a&be x anna be bridal shop locations and our sister shop, anna be bridal boutique in denver, colorado.

danielle frankel

bridal’s coolest designer keeps pushing things forward. the hand-painted jacquard fabric she introduced this season is genuinely unlike anything else. it’s the kind of gown that makes you feel something. bubble hems and sculptural tailoring are her signatures and ss27 delivers on both. shop danielle frankel gowns at select a&be x anna be bridal shop locations and our sister shop, anna be bridal boutique in denver, colorado.

madi lane

for the bride who wants to be bang on trend without the couture price tag, madi lane is a dream. corset-inspired bodices, romantic necklines, rich fabrication: all the things that are having a moment right now, at a price point that feels genuinely accessible. sizes run broadly and the value proposition is unmatched.
