new york bridal fashion week did not disappoint this season & it has us falling in love with bridal all over again! designers gave us a lot to screenshot, swoon over, & pin for wedding dress inspiration. this season’s preview was all about the details & reinvention of the traditional bridal look. unexpected low backs, sweetheart necklines, draped fabrics, & silhouettes that were equally effortless & unforgettable.

all about the neckline
paige lorenze’s wedding dress put crescent necklines on everyone's radar, & it set a trend across this year's bridal designs. crescent necklines with a lot of curvature & character were presented in so many different ways on the runway. this distinctive neckline offers a new spin on traditional wedding dress silhouettes that we just can’t get enough of.
backless moments
let’s give it up for the back of the dress! low-back gowns were a big moment this season, popping up in designs ranging from barely there scoop backs to dramatic open-backed silhouettes. from delicate straps to sheer lines, these gowns proved that the back of your dress definitely deserves its own moment!
the comeback we didn’t see coming
the return of mermaid & trumpet wedding gowns was not on our NYBFW bingo card, but we’re not complaining! we are more than happy to see these silhouettes back in action with new & surprising twists. some were draped in lace, featured ruching, while others were adorned with floral appliqué throughout the skirt. we loved seeing these beloved silhouettes re-emerge in an updated & creative way!
softer a-line skirts
not all brides are here for the ballgown (& that’s okay!). enter the soft a-line skirts. these dreamy styles made their way into a lot of designers' collections. this style hit that sweet spot between making a statement & still being effortless. they were perfectly balanced with flowy chiffon or soft layers of tulle paired with structured corsets, giving it the right amount of shape. every time we saw one come down the runway they had us living out our fairy tale wedding dress dreams.
