Classic beauty for a postmodern life. Anais Anette gowns speak to a woman who needs no frame of reference for her own point of view. She exudes femininity, strength and independence in equal parts. She is unmoved by trends, and swept away by authenticity. The Anais Anette collection can be found in our Denver, Dallas, Minneapolis, Portland, and Seattle locations.

A little Q&A with the designer:
Q. What is your design inspiration?
MAGDALENA: My inspiration is always changing, most of the time it’s not something I could put into words. It is never a person or one thing, but multiple ideas translated in the moment.
KAROLINA: The materials and elements I work with.
Q. Tell me two little known facts about you
1. I make up songs about what I’m doing or thinking.
2. I like silent mornings.
1. I collect nesting dolls.
2. I like to vintage shop.
Q. Describe your personal style
MAGDALENA: I’d rather get my day started, than spend time getting ready for it. So, very easy, no clothes that need ironing (jeans, tshirts), fast hairstyles (buns, ponytails, braids), no make-up.
KAROLINA: Casual and comfortable with bold & unique shoe choices!
Q. What is your favorite article of clothing
MAGDALENA: Anything I’ve worn in, the more holes the more I’m attached. I like wearing clothes that have a story. But the only piece I would be heartbroken to part with is our grandmother’s cocktail ring that she got from grandpa for their 30th anniversary.
KAROLINA: I’m much more into accessorizing... I have a leather tribe inspired necklace that our parents made back in their leather manufacturing days.
Q. Favorite vacation spot
MAGDALENA: I try to see new places and don’t often vacation at the same spot. Although my sister and I have spent a lot of time camping, I’ve always liked getting away from the city and spending time surrounded by nature.
KAROLINA: Marfa, Texas
Q. When did you know that you were going to design bridal?
MAGDALENA: I’ve been interested in fashion design since sewing alongside our parents and watching Fashion Television as a young child. I decided on bridal because of the detail and time that goes into a wedding gown.
KAROLINA: When Magdalena and I decided to create a brand together.
Q. Who is your style icon?
MAGDALENA: Diana Vreeland. Editor in Chief for Vogue Magazine in the 60’s.
KAROLINA: Helena Bonham Carter. She has her personal style that isn’t influenced by trends.
Q. If you could dress any celebrity, who would it be?
MAGDALENA & KAROLINA: Cate Blanchett
Q. What is the last great book that you read?
MAGDALENA: Freddie Mercury, The Definitive Biography
KAROLINA: Shocking Life, The Autobiography of Elsa Schiaparelli
Q. Any advice for brides?
MAGDALENA: Don’t take too much advice :)
KAROLINA: It’s your day, don’t try to please everyone. You can lose your own style & vision quickly that way.
