Real Wedding: Zoey + Luke

We are just about giddy over here about this Napa elopement wedding. I can’t share enough about it! Zoey and Luke are from Littleton Colorado. They emailed us telling us a little about their wedding plans. They had started planning a traditional wedding and quickly realized they were going to be ALL ABOUT keeping it small- then it was decided they were going to ELOPE! They had made reservations at Napa River Inn, a Historic Hotel in downtown Napa, and planned to spend the week in California celebrating their union. They didn’t know much else at that point. They knew they wanted it to be special, but not stressful. The tone of Zoey’s initial email made us quickly realize we were going to LOVE them. It seemed to us that they were taking all things into consideration, and keeping their priorities in line with what was important to them. We were sure glad that choosing us was in line with the priorities!

After considering a few different spots for their ceremony, they chose Napa’s historic Bale Grist Mill. The mill is only set up to do a limited number of very small ceremonies and it was the perfect match for them. Being that their wedding was on a week day, the Mill was closed to visitors, so we had the amazing property to ourselves.

Just because they had an elopement, Zoey and Luke didn’t decide to omit on some of the sweet sentimental moments. Sharing champagne with a toast and a cake cutting was important to them as well as a first dance- all under the canopy of beautiful trees in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Their first dance was as sweet as any we’ve seen, as they danced to one of their favorite songs (Tenessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton), with sun shining through the trees to welcome them into the first day of marriage. From there, we all toured a little around St. Helena and Calistoga, stopping along the way to take more photos in pretty places. The two of them beamed with happiness the entire day- and we felt so blessed to be there to photograph it for them. Here’s to MANY more beautiful days together, Zoey + Luke!
