Real Wedding: Chelsea + Zak

From the bride:

Having met while working in a restaurant together from 2006-2012, & still working in the service industry to this day, a lot of Zak & I’s wedding was made possible by our friends & their unique talents. A close friend owns a stationary studio who helped us with our invitations, Zak’s godfather, a former florist, designed all of our floral arrangements & bouquets, my friend & hairstylist (since high school!) did my bridal party & mother’s hair, another friend & our international travel buddy did my girls' makeup, our friend & former roommate officiated our ceremony, our former co-worker, now good friend planned & prepared a delicious menu for our guests, & our friend, Zak’s former co-worker & baker extrordinaire made our desserts! It really was so meaningful & touching to have so many friends reach out to offer their help & their talent to make our day so special & fun. The entire day before our wedding our bridal party & families helped us to decorate the reception venue & it rained & rained all day! I was so nervous that our tented ceremony was going to be soggy but, Saturday dawned & we could not have hoped for a more perfect day. My favorite moment would have to be the ceremony. We had a string quartet play contemporary songs that were meaningful to us & we wrote our own vows. It was pretty low key (& quick! Neither of us like the spotlight too much so we wanted to keep it brief!) & ended with a champagne toast with our immediate family & bridal party. Only to be followed by an awesome party, exactly how we planned it! It was a great, tiring, emotional, beautiful day & I am so happy that we were able to share it with those closest to us.
