Real Wedding : Kya + Kyle :: Scenic Wedding in Santa Fe National Forest

A long hike, an epic view, and boho style that can only be described as goals. Kya and Kyle’s intimate wedding in the Santa Fe National Forest is proof that small weddings can be filled with big adventure.
For our wedding, we and all of our guests hiked up 2 miles to Grass Mountain in the Santa Fe National Forest. Everyone carried a piece of the ceremony up to the mountain to symbolize that we needed and wanted everyone's involvement and unique gifts in our marriage in order for it to reach its full potential.
After a picnic lunch and changing clothes, the ceremony began, with our dear friends serving as officiant, reader, and musician. Each song was specifically selected for its lyrics and significance in our lives together and individually. My husband and I took time during the ceremony to share all the meaning we had woven into the ceremony with our guests - the power of shared experience, everyone carrying a piece of the ceremony, the colors, the songs, the archway, and so on. We wrote our own intentions, vows, and words of the ring exchange so that they captured everything we wanted to promise to each other.
As the ceremony closed, we had our first dance before hiking down to enjoy pizza and ice cream (our favorites!) with our loved ones by the river.
