REAL WEDDING: JENNIFER & BENJAMIN:: A RELAXED AND CLASSIC CALIFORNIA SUMMER WEDDING

a love story that’s so packed full, fitting it all into one blog post was no easy feat. from their college days at cal state monterey bay, #aandbabe jennifer and benjamin became fast friends. on jennifer’s birthday, a monterey country fair trip turned into the couple's first kiss after a “forced” ferris wheel ride set up by their friend group. while their wedding planning experience wasn’t as seamless as their first fair date, due to the caldor fire in el dorado county, these two made the most of the stressful days before i do. “our ceremony and reception venue was only 5 miles away from the fire and the surrounding towns including them all had to be mandatory evacuated. we found this out the wednesday before our wedding. we now had to re-plan our entire wedding in 3 days!! while this was the most stressful week of our lives (ben's parents had to also evacuate and live with us at our house) we pulled it together and made it happen still.”

not only did they make it happen, but had a hell of a time celebrating too. jennifer was glowing in her ‘india’ wedding dress by madi lane. this bold lace bridal gown matched the boho bridal style of jennifer’s braided hairdo perfectly. from a delicate bridal hair vine to their greenery covered pergola where their wedding ceremony was held, every detail was elegant and effortlessly unique. we loved their charming beer garden wedding reception full of picnic tables, pops of sunflowers, and pizza. this rustic wedding reception space was actually a last-minute decision as their initial reception venue couldn’t be used due to the fire close by. jennifer explains, "our food vendor federalist public house in sacramento was willing to offer to us their beer garden as a reception venue, free of additional costs. when we found this out, we were sobbing because we couldn’t believe this could really happen for us. we are forever grateful for all of our vendors who helped us get married on august 21st! despite all of the challenges that we faced that week, we still managed to pull off an incredible day”.

jennifer and benjamin, your grace and gratitude towards the challenges you faced to pull your big day together is such a wonderful example of the love you share. unshakeable, welcoming, and always making the most of what comes your way. may married life be full of smiles… and cheesy slices too.
