stunning mount hood elopement
when keeley and kyle got engaged, they knew they’re wedding would most likely take place in oregon, but they weren’t sure about their wedding venue. mount hood had been a favorite hike for quite some time, so it felt fitting to incorporate their love of this adventure into the new adventure they were about to embark on as a married couple. keeley shares, “we packed our backpacking packs with our wedding gear and set out on a 16 mile and 4k feet of elevation gain hike up to our favorite spot on mount hood with 3 of our closest friends”.
wedding morning spent outdoors
some brides choose to get ready in a lush bridal suite, but not keeley. laying down a blanket on the mountainside, keeley chose to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the crisp mountain air as she prepared for her big day. you can see photos of keeley carefully applying makeup using her phone as a mirror and being quiet so as not to wake up kyle peacefully napping by her side.
mountain wedding picnic
hosting their own panoramic wedding picnic, keeley and kyle enjoyed an array of crackers, chips, dips, and more as they awaited the start of their ceremony. cracking open an ice cold beverage and calmly enjoying each other’s presence, this peaceful pre-wedding ritual was just what they wanted.
fun wedding dress in portland, oregon
when shopping for a wedding dress, keeley really wanted something that would be “easy and fun”. for keeley that looked like a bridal gown that would be comfortable to transport and move around in, but also have some sort of unique detail or embroidery. to achieve this bridal vision, keeley visited a&bé bridal shop in portland, oregon.
keeley first found her jenny by jenny yoo wedding dress by trying on several different a-line styles. loving the lightweight feel of ‘bronte’ by jenny by jenny yoo’s organza material, keeley thought this dress would be easy to carry on their hike and would avoid wrinkling in her backpack.
bronte dress came with detachable off-the-shoulder sleeves, but keeley liked the idea of having a more delicate bridal accessory that would complement the natural beauty of their mount hood elopement.
selecting truvelle’s ‘pandora sleeves’ keeley was able to effortlessly add a delicate floral sheer sleeve to her bridal look. the branch-like lace embroidery on these long bridal sleeve’s echoed the surrounding nature, blending seamlessly with the mountain’s wildflowers and vegetation!

keeley and kyle were very intentional about the guests at their wedding ceremony. since they wanted their day to feel intimate, they only invited their closest friends to assist with performing the ceremony. keeley shares some insight into the three friends they selected and the roles they played, “one married us, the second was the witness, and the last was our second witness and photographer”.
getting married in a secluded spot, keeley and kyle exchanged vows as the wind blew, rippling the pages of their vow book and blowing the skirt of keeley’s organza wedding gown in different directions. the simplicity of their mountain wedding and the few people present allowed their love and commitment to take center stage. keeley and kyle’s wedding photos beautifully captured the excitement of their ceremony and the way nature was fully intertwined in every moment.
mount hood wedding reception hike
after the ceremony, keeley and kyle took more photos on the mountain. some of the photos were candid, while other wedding photos were more posed and took on a reception feel. both keeley and kyle put on wedding sunglasses, posing in their shades while signing their marriage license.
with their friends by their side and rings on their hand, they soon began their descent. “after we got married and took pictures we hiked back down in the dark.” their hike to the bottom was filled with laughter and celebration, spending the remainder of their evening invested in the present moment and soaking in the last hours of their wedding day.
if you’re searching for a non-traditional way to get married to your best friend, a mountain elopement on mount hood may check all the boxes. for keeley and kyle it was a day filled with unforgettable memories and an adventurous spirit. “our day was the most magical day we could have asked for.”
