need some tropical wedding inspiration? #aandbabe bailey & kimo’s beautiful destination wedding in oahu, hawaii blew us away.

the relaxed vibe, dreamy scenery, and lush landscape made their wedding celebration feel both on-trend and equally timeless.

below are some of the unique ways they incorporated their wedding theme when planning their wedding ceremony and reception in hawaii.

getting married in hawaii

although bailey and kimo met when they were 10, it wasn’t until 2020 that the two fully reconnected. bailey shares, “we both ended up moving back to denver around the same time. when covid happened we ended up reconnecting”.

soon after rekindling their friendship, their texting became daily morning coffee on facetime.

the two would eventually find themselves getting married at the local court house and celebrating with their friends and family in oahu, hawaii a year later.

tropical destination wedding dress ideas

since they were based in denver, bailey found her wedding dress at a&bé bridal shop in denver.

knowing that our denver bridal shop carried rue de seine wedding dresses, bailey felt like this adventurous bridal line captured her vision.

falling in love with ‘caine’ by rue de seine, bailey loved the unique butterfly bodice and embroidered blouson sleeves.

tropical wedding greenery and vibrant florals

bright colors are a typical wedding color palette for tropical weddings. one of the easiest ways to add a pop of color is with your wedding florals.

bailey and kimo’s florist, fairytale floral, created stunning floral wedding decor for their ceremony and reception.

specializing in “whimsical and botanical style”, fairytale floral adorned their altar, sweetheart table, and more with beautiful blooms, palm leaves, and more.

signature tropical wedding drinks

one fun way to play into your destination wedding theme is by serving tropical wedding drinks.

for bailey and kimo’s wedding drinks, they even included local produce and juices!

bailey’s signature wedding cocktail was a lilikoi sour with fresh lilikoi juice. kimo’s signature drink was a guava tequila cocktail.

dreamy destination wedding outdoors

being in such a beautiful place with gorgeous weather, bailey and kimo really wanted to enjoy their wedding day outside.

both the ceremony and reception took place outdoors. the natural elements and ample greenery truly tied everything together.

although their reception was technically tented, leaving the sides up and selecting a clear tent helped everyone feel surrounded by nature the entire day.

from exchanging vows in front of a gorgeous greenery backdrop, to dancing barefoot under the bistro lights, bailey and kimo’s beautiful destination wedding in oahu, hawaii was beyond picturesque.
