CHIC SEPTEMBER WEDDING AT MODERN HOTEL VENUE

a cozy christmas proposal

#aandbabe lydia and matt’s love story came to life thanks to one of lydia’s dogs and one of matt’s daughters. living in the same neighborhood, lydia often walked by matt’s home, seeing him and his daughters playing outdoors. one day, as lydia was taking her dogs on a walk, katie, one of matt’s daughters, came running up to lydia. “can I pet your dogs?!”, katie excitedly asked as she got closer to lydia and her pets!

from there lydia and matt connected, first through casual conversations, and later at a neighborhood happy hour matt invited lydia to attend. in 2022 matt sealed the deal by proposing to lydia during christmas in front of the family tree!

september wedding in austin, texas

unlike their winter engagement, lydia and matt’s wedding day was quite warm, with beautiful weather. deciding on the line hotel in austin, texas as their dream wedding venue, lydia and matt enjoyed every aspect of this urban oasis. with wedding suites that had oversized windows and plenty of natural light, these two got ready in serenity and sunshine before heading to their ceremony space.

romantic ceremony decor with geometric touches

getting married in a glass ballroom looking out to the property’s stately treescape, their ceremony felt like the perfect blend of contemporary and organic. the panoramic glass windows were met by the stylish architecture of the venue’s geometric ceiling. white rose petals and candles lined the dark wood aisle as did chunky light wood chairs. lydia and matt’s ceremony backdrop was simplistic, but impactful, including white flowers and greenery, as well as gold shelving. creating a square wedding arch that lydia and matt stood in front of as they exchanged vows, their ceremony decor was sophisticated and romantic.

alexandra grecco wedding dress from a&bé bridal shop portland

when shopping for a wedding dress, lydia found a&bé bridal shop portland. loving the relaxed vibe of this cozy brick bridal shop, lydia was eager to explore the collection more. eventually finding ‘cleo’ by alexandra grecco, lydia was smitten. this scoop neck satin crepe wedding dress was simple and elegant. lydia loved that this gown was sleek and had a subtle hint of sexiness.

not only was this bridal gown classic and comfortable, but it also matched the clean lines of their austin texas hotel wedding venue. with dainty straps and a small train, lydia felt confident and at ease in this gorgeous alexandra grecco gown!

modern and minimal wedding reception

after the ceremony, guests entered another space to begin the evening festivities. taking place in another open air room that was beautifully designed, lydia and matt kept their reception decor minimal. by focusing on personal elements that would elevate their guests’ experience, lydia and matt leaned into custom wedding signage and unique wedding favors.

custom wedding reception sunglasses

before hitting the dance floor, custom wedding sunglasses were displayed with their initials and wedding date written on the lenses. these retro heart shaped sunglasses added a lighthearted element to the celebration, doubling as both a cool wedding favor and a fun reception look.

wedding ribbon send-off

as the night winded down, guests gathered in a stairwell to send off the bride and groom. lydia and matt made their way through a tunnel of wedding ribbons, creating a memorable ribbon send-off and some epic wedding getaway photos!

lydia best describes their day by saying, “we had a modern and joyful ceremony and reception at the line hotel in austin, texas”.
