COZY WINERY WEDDING AT COOPERS HALL IN PORTLAND, OREGON

when you think of a winery wedding, you tend to imagine rolling hills and lush vineyards. for modern couples, like #aandbabe melissa and drew, this wasn’t quite the winery wedding vision they had in mind. swapping out a lush landscape for bustling street views, melissa and drew’s modern oregon wedding venue was nestled in the industrial district of southeast portland.

sustainable winery wedding venue in portland, oregon

getting married at coopers hall in portland, melissa and drew enjoyed the character of this sustainable winery wedding venue. with multiple locations throughout the city, coopers hall serves as the flagship urban winery venue. funnily enough, this unique portland wedding venue was once an auto body shop.

though there are traces of minimal design and rustic features, coopers hall allows ample natural light. with “two-story high ceilings and brilliant natural light that supports an abundance of plant life and creates a dreamy setting for making and photographing memories,” this portland wedding venue is charming and distinctive.

modern alyssa kristin wedding dress

when it came time to shop for a wedding dress, melissa knew that she needed to visit portland’s best bridal shop. a&bé portland was one of melissa’s very first bridal appointments and she quickly found a few favorite gowns that fit her modern bridal vision. of her favorites, ‘bianca’ by alyssa kristin was a clear front runner!

this alyssa krisitn bridal gown was ideal for the romantic yet understated aesthetic of their modern winery wedding. to add to the effortless nature, melissa wore her hair in loose bridal waves and selected a wedding veil with curved horsehair trim.

whimsical sara gabriel bridal veil

selecting ‘julianne veil’ by sara gabriel, melissa added drama to the back of her gown with the veil’s unique waterfall cut. not only did julianne veil’s one-inch horsehair trim add dimension, but it also helped the veil stay grounded during moments outdoors.

mauve and burnt orange wedding flowers for fall

while elements of the venue and dress were minimalistic, earthy details like melissa and drew’s fall wedding flowers added a pop of vibrant color. when looking at the melissa’s bridal bouquet, tablescapes, and even their wedding cake, rich tones of burnt orange, mauve, and peach created contrast and liveliness to their october wedding decor.

fall wedding dinner menu

another autumnal addition was melissa and drew’s delicious fall wedding dinner menu. many of the dishes on their dinner menu were nutritious and packed on a flavorful combination of comfort food with spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. by incorporating traditional wedding mains such as roasted trout and smoked beef coulotte with more fall-inspired wedding sides like glazed carrots and a chicory salad, melissa and drew’s guests were well-fed by a medley of seasonal cuisine.

even with an october chill in the air, a late night snack of fifty licks ice cream was the final surprise that wrapped up their wedding! special, sweet, and so full of meaning, october 28th, 2023 was the very best day.
