special seattle love story
since we’ve gotten to work so closely with sammy for quite some time now, we can share a bit more detail about her and dylan’s special day and why it was so true to their own love story.
sammy and dylan live in washington. avid nature-lovers, the pair can often be found by the sea. both sammy and dylan are most content on the serene waters of local lakes and the pacific ocean when they’re up for a trip. whether they’re having a boat day or getting another aquatic tattoo (peep sammy’s wrists) much of sammy and dylan’s love story can be told by browsing photos from countless waterside adventures. when dylan was planning his proposal, he knew that being on the water was a must.
private lakeside proposal at deep cove in north vancouver
deciding to head to vancouver for a weekend to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, dylan opted to pop the question on this trip! arranging a private boat ride to an oasis in deep cove in north vancouver, sammy assumed their sweet boat ride was an anniversary surprise. wearing puffy coats and sipping crisp champagne, mountain views passed by accompanied with rolling fog and soft pink skies.
the natural views weren’t the only dreamscape. as sammy and dylan’s boat approached a private dock, candles, white rose petals, and dried floral arrangements were awaiting the couple’s arrival. since sammy took off her glasses, she couldn’t quite make out the details till they were closer, which only made this moment that much more of a shock!
after dylan proposed, sammy would soon realize they weren’t alone. sarah nicole, a canadian wedding and elopement photographer captured this jaw-dropping lakeside proposal in vancouver. sammy’s mom and brother also surprised sammy. they even arrived with press on nails, making sure she felt photo-ready for all the engagement ring shots this night would hold!

when it came time to plan the wedding, both sammy and dylan knew that hawaii was where they wanted to get married. a special destination to the two of them and a beloved vacation spot, hawaii has been the location of a lifetime of memories and the place many of their diving explorations have unfolded. discovering hale wailele weddings, this luxury wedding estate on mount hualalai stole their hearts.
the panoramic views of keauhou bay served as the couple’s ceremony backdrop. getting married in front of the estate’s infinity pool, the miles of kona coastline were visible from their intimate altar. white pedestals sat on either side of the aisle and tropical white wedding floral arrangements sat on top. silver disco balls of varying sizes were propped up against the bases of the pedestals, adding a modern-disco party allure to their poolside wedding ceremony in hawaii.

since sammy was previously a team member in our seattle bridal shop and still visits frequently, she already had a good idea of the wedding dress style she wanted. trying on a variety of alyssa kristin wedding dresses, one particular minimal off-the-shoulder crepe wedding dress spoke to her.
a key feature of this fitted crepe alyssa kristin dress was the removable off-the-shoulder straps. sammy wore the straps for their ceremony and select photos. later in the evening, sammy removed the sleeves, creating a sleek reception party look. dylan took off his jacket, slipped into sneakers, and they both emerged rocking sunnies for the rest of the evening!
other bridal accessories included a long ballet tulle veil by sara gabriel and pearl hoop earrings. sammy’s pearl bridal earrings matched the funky pearl embellishment found on many of their wedding flowers. these pearl embellished wedding flowers were fun and on-trend!
