and in a whirlwind of sound i found myself standing completely still. as the waves crashed to shore, wild whitecaps overtook them. gravel and dirt crunched beneath my feet, leaving a far less sturdy footing than i would have liked. seagulls’ phantom swoops echoed above and i heard my breathing, deep, steady, controlled... that is until i saw you. together we said i do. though just a seaside cliff, i could have sworn we were standing on the edge of the world. darling, i’d only dare climb to the ends of the earth for our elopement. and i’d do again and again and again. crashing into the surf, wading in a crisp, cold, contented wedding daze. again and again, always with you.
