Growing up in her mom’s sewing studio, Truvelle’s founder and creative director Gaby gained the knowledge and drive to start her own line. Seeing the need for dresses that make brides feel just as comfortable as they are beautiful, Truvelle has emerged as one of a&bé’s easy favorites. Gaby and her team have consistently embodied their girl powered dream of gowns with mindful design. With the goal of zero waste during production their gowns are not only beautiful, they are thoughtfully made. This Vancouver based company focuses on attention to quality, the “little things” and overall coolness for the effortlessly confident bride. These hand crafted, ethereal styles are perfect for the modern bride. Truvelle wedding dresses are available exclusively in Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Portland, and Seattle.

REAL A&BÉ BRIDES IN Truvelle WEDDING DRESSES
A Little Q&A with Gaby Bayona
Q. What is your design inspiration?
Truvelle is a reflection of my tastes, so inspiration changes all the time! I currently have a major travel bug and have been inspired tons by that, but in the past it’s been a lot of “these two things look nice together”. To be honest, it’s still a lot of the latter. That being said, I always make sure to stay true to Truvelle’s core of refinement, effortlessness, and modernity.
Q. Tell me two little known facts about you
1. I was a big math nerd, and have a math contest school champion medal to prove it.
2. I’m half Filipino, half Portuguese, and am first generation Canadian.
Q. Describe your personal style
I’m all about a uniform. Right now I’m rocking boy pants rolled to show ankle & a classic white button up.
Q. What is your favorite article of clothing
You can’t go wrong with an over-sized white button up.
Q. Favorite vacation spot
Anywhere that’s new! I’m so eager to explore the world right now.
Q. When did you know that you were going to design bridal?
I grew up in the wedding industry (my mum is a really talented seamstress), so bridal was always there. My university plans fell flat when I got rejected from the only school I applied to, and my newly acquired free time became time spent at my mum’s custom bridal shop. At first I focused on the business side of her boutique, but as time went on I started fit modelling, fabric buying, design tweaking, and then straight up designing. I spent around three years making custom gowns for private clients before launching Truvelle in 2013.
Q. Who is your style icon?
Alexa Chung & Leandra Medine. They both do easy so well & are sharp to boot
Q. If you could dress any celebrity, who would it be?
Beyonce, because she is #flawless
Q. What is the last great book that you read?
I’m more of a magazine person than a book person - these days I just can’t sit still. Ironically, my favourite magazine encourages slow living : Kinfolk Magazine
Q. Any advice for brides?
Do what makes you happy
