if you could plan a destination wedding anywhere in the world, where would you go? the answer was easy for both #aandbabe hanna and jean. with two totally different love stories that center around a knack for travel and trips that led to forever love, we’re obsessed with the planning of these dreamy destination weddings. from classic tropical wedding ideas to modern destination wedding dresses, these babes focused on the charm and culture of their unique wedding venues.

AIRPORT LOVE STORY

hanna and rodolfo "first saw each other at the airport as they were both traveling to washington for a conference”. they enjoyed getting to know each other during the trip and their friendship continued as they arrived home.

as their relationship progressed, their love grew. on may 3, 2016 rodolfo asked hanna to be his girlfriend. little did they know, they’d enjoy the next few years dating and eventually would tie the knot in 2022 at a romantic destination wedding in jalisco, mexico.

ALPHA BY VAGABOND

for their dreamy ranch wedding in mexico, hanna wore ‘alpha’ by vagabond. this minimalist crepe wedding dress stood out among the venue’s 17th-century stonework and rustic courtyards. trailing along antique patios adorned with artisan tiles, the long bridal train of vagabond’s alpha dress was mesmerizing.

hanna styled this cathedral train with a long tulle veil with sequin embroidery at the bottom and a small pearl bridal jewelry. from the statement pearl hair comb to the dainty pearl drop earrings, every accessory complimented this modern off-the-shoulder crepe wedding dress.

from the fit and flare skirt to the straight across off-the-shoulder neckline, this contemporary vagabond wedding dress was perfect for their picturesque church ceremony located in a lush secret garden.

OUTDOOR CHURCH WEDDING

nicknamed the ‘green chapel’ by hacienda la magdalena, hanna and rodolfo’s outdoor private wedding chapel ceremony venue was breathtaking. covered in natural greenery and located along the banks of a stream, this historic outdoor chapel in mexico was a serene setting for hanna and rodolfo to say i do.

from beautiful live ceremony music played by a mariachi band to the natural light pouring in from the glass ceiling and spaces between the greenery draping the sides of the chapel, this secluded wedding venue and the sweet ceremony held there, was a sight to behold.

after the wedding, guests gathered outside to snap photos outside this charming open-air chapel. from the colorful long formal gowns sprinkled throughout the background to the concrete pots bursting with baby's breath, we loved the cozy and elevated style of this outdoor destination ceremony venue.

overflowing with love, we adore the candid photos that followed the ceremony. hanna and rodolfo’s flower girls huddled together in their white lace dresses, holding woven flower baskets and posing with delicate dried flower crowns placed on their heads. several guests were seen holding a camera and capturing even more magical moments so as not to forget this special day.

CHIC CANTARITO DE BARRO WEDDING COCKTAILS

once all post-ceremony photos were taken, hanna and rodolfo celebrated with drinks. opting to both sip beer, their guests were greeted with cocktails poured into clay cups. these cantarito de barro cocktails were a fun way to incorporate their destination wedding theme into their relaxed cocktail hour and reception.

DRAMATIC COLD SPARK WEDDING EXIT

ditch the handheld sparklers and try a sparkler machine wedding exit. hanna and rodolfo stood behind a cold spark machine and shared one last kiss before ending their wedding day. with glowing lights and sparks shooting in every direction, this dramatic wedding exit was glamorous. not only was it elegant, but it also allowed guests to be fully present and watch the couple as they departed.

LONG-DISTANCE LOVE STORY

meeting while studying abroad in santiago, chile, jean and joaquin quickly fell in love. the couple dated for eight years and four of those years were spent together, as jean moved to chile to be with joaquin. jean shares more details on their long-term relationship saying, “we had periods of long-distance, visa challenges, job transitions, and many, many adventures along the way.”

after years of dating, jean and joaquin were married in february 2022. their destination wedding in sayulita, mexico, was the perfect place for both their friends and family to celebrate. jean and joaquin chose to host their wedding in mexico because it was the ideal mid-point between their two countries. jean explains their lively wedding celebrations as "a wonderful, bilingual, multicultural event that captured our personalities perfectly”.

GARDEN ROSE BY ALENA LEENA

not only did the wedding capture their style, but so did their attire. jean wore ‘garden rose’ by alena leena wedding dress. being that their wedding ceremony took place on a grassy cliffside overlooking the ocean, this fitted wedding dress was both simplistic and sophisticated.

this alena leena gown’s bustier bodice was accented by delicate beaded straps. the soft crepe skirt added a hint of modern bridal style and the illusion lace train finished this elegant bridal look.

WATERSIDE OVERLOOK WEDDING

with sweeping views of the ocean, jean and joaquin’s hillside wedding ceremony at don pedros palapa was classic and charming. with white folding chairs arranged on each side of the grassy aisle, guests had a stunning oceanside view.

their rustic ceremony arbor was covered in colorful tropical wedding flowers and greenery. from certain sides of the hill, you could see beachside towns in the distance and the open-air reception venue close by.

BEACH WEDDING PHOTOS

after exchanging vows, jean and joaquin took photos along the beach. jean’s half-up-half-down braided bridal hairstyle looked effortless as did the long lace train that was fanned out among the sand.

this alena leena gown’s stunning floral lace embroidery matched jean's tropical beach wedding bouquet and joaquin’s coordinating colorful boutonnière. strolling along grassy pathways and scenic beach spots, jean and joaquin soaked in this special time before departing to ‘the palapa’ to party under moody lighting and relax in a lush lounge setting.

RECEPTION CHURRO BAR

their epic outdoor reception was full of fun and lots of celebration. while there are so many details we can point out, one unique reception dessert idea was their custom wedding churro bar. decorated with streamers and bistro lights, their churro dessert bar held sweet treats and condiments such as condensed milk and tequila salsa.

making sure their guests not only had a good time, but left with their stomachs full, jean and joaquin were all smiles as their magical destination wedding day came to an end.
