DEAR GUEST, HOW TO BE A GREAT FRIEND FOR YOUR BRIDE’S APPOINTMENT!
march 2020
today is all about the bride
give the bride your full attention. during the tour, instead of wandering through the shop looking at dresses, stay by their side and notice what kind of things they are gravitating towards. when they are getting in and out of gowns, stay put. it’s a huge bummer when they come out in a dress they are excited about and no one is there because the crew has ventured off to look through the racks. don’t compare things to your own wedding or experience, this is their time.
your stylist has the bride’s back
we’re here for our brides. period. it’s our job to make sure they have the best experience possible and leave with either their dream dress or a clear understanding of what they are looking for. we make sure that our brides see a little bit of everything and ask a lot of questions to help us get to know what the bride is loving and what they’re not. we know our inventory inside and out and always make sure we are taking everything into consideration when selecting gowns to try on. if we’re not pulling a dress you had in mind it could be because of price point, size range, or timeline restrictions. trust that we have the bride’s back and will make sure that they feel heard and supported throughout the entire process!
have their back—no matter what
the best way you can be there for the bride is to support them. they may ask for your opinion on things and if that’s what the bride wants then it is totally fine to weigh in! when they come out of the dressing room, hold your comments until they get a chance to look at themselves and give you their thoughts. before you get too vocal, pay attention to how they look at themselves in each dress, their body language, and how they talk about the dress. be kind with your words, don’t make negative comments about how their body looks. try asking questions like, “what do you like about this dress?” “do you feel like yourself in this dress?”, “can you see yourself getting married in this dress?” remind them that they will look incredible in anything they choose and remember that they are the ones who will have to get married in that dress, not you.
celebrate!
most brides find their dress a lot sooner than they anticipated (usually in the first 10!) so make this a special day! we offer a celebratory toast after a bride finds their dress! when planning out your bride’s dress shopping day, preparing for a celebratory brunch, dinner, or drinks after excitement of their dress appointment is always a great way to keep the fun going and celebrate finding the dress! ask your stylists for recommendations on good spots in the neighborhood and go have an awesome time celebrating your bride!
